What to do with that tree / log on 3A?

Postby Ken » Tue Apr 07, 2009 12:40 pm

So, let's hear some ideas what to do with the tree / log over trail 3A...

Just cut it out?

Turn it into a skinny parallel to the trail?

Cut it into multiple pieces and use them to build a better crossing for the low spot just afterwards?

Reroute around it?

There is probably enough there to make a decent skinny from half or so, and use the rest for building the crossing. But it might not be flat enough to be useful as a decent skinny. Then it could still be useful for a log ramp/pile to the side of the trail.

Where is 3a? This whole numbering system just isn't working for me.

I say do what you what you think you should do.

Ain't seen the log in question, but a vertical log ride, such as the one on the Palos(?) trail at Sunderbruch would be cool.

THIS MAP has trail numbers. Lot of cool ideas / possibilities. Only had time yesterday to rework the crossing a lil bit, should be better. I forgot about the vertical log thingee, thanks for bringing that back up.

Hopefully see y'all out there soon, tonight I'm riding - no trail work - gotta keep it balanced, which is difficult for mua.

The new crossing rocks. Well done. Ken, u da man. Thanks for removing the tree etc. Muy bueno.

Vertical log thingys are great. They are a good time and an interesting feature. I would definitely come out and help build.
