There will be a trail work session @ Beverly this Saturday from high noon til 3 in the PM... wear weather appropriate clothing, hat / gloves / boots highly recommended along with bug spray and possibly sun block. We have a number of projects to tackle, what gets done depends on who / how many show up; said projects include but are not limited to...

The garlic mustard battle!
General maintenance (i.e. trimming, pruning, mowing, debris removal, etc.)
FrontSide trail rerouting to be completed...
Complete closure / reclamation of rerouted trails.

Ha, thanks... it's a labour of love thing.

So yeah, Saturday... here is the FrontSide plan:

RED represents new trail line(s) yet to be constructed, ORANGE is recently constructed new trail, hallowed out GREEN is trail that needs reclaimed; and PURPLE is... wait for it... a "bike skill development trail featuer" BSDTF :D

Final result should be a flowly fun family friendly FrontSide loop kinda like an introductuion to mt. biking in our area...

For those interested in killing off some garlic mustard, here is a super detailed map of where we should focus... mowers, weed trimmers, weed whips, and any other means necessary to knock down as much of this weed as possible!

Why not the FrontSide you say? Because our United Way volunteers will be working in that area on May 10th.

Some people think it's pretty, but trust us, it's bad, really bad.

We cannot allow Beverly Park to look like this...

Rain or shine, baby! I'm heading out that-a-way appx. 10am...

GM is easier to yank outta damp dirt.

Moist dirt + new trail = yum.

Front side green trail is back into riding shape. New trails are in, old trails are reclaimed, some garlic mustard killed, log over corduroy is finished and every last cookie was ate! Yum

Thanks again everyone! Very well done

Doesnt need to be said but Please stay off the reclaimed trails!

Good stuff and just in time for a super soaker rain, perfect.

Thanks everyone for helping out, 9 adults and 4 kids, LAMBA style.

FrontSide riding will most definitely be improved.

Damn we missed the cookies :( That's what we get for leaving at 2. I did get an big enjoyment out of pulling all that garlic mustard! Sad we were not able to get out there more to get more of it!

As long as there is a flower on it, PULL IT, any time you are out and about... after the flower is gone the plant can still be pulled but it must be bagged, or you will simply be helping it spread seeds for future growth.

Hope Decorah treated you guys well, the weather was definitely spring-like.
