Rode there today and things are good. This time of year need to watch out for two things... one is obviously precipitation, the other temperature fluctuations, more so when above / below freezing. Have fun!

I rode last night and the trails were perfect.

Thanks for the updates. Busy time of year and have not been able to update things via the web, let alone get out there. Lookin' good for the weekend too... http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/C ... 52405:4:US

Spent several hours riding the park on Saturday afternoon. Trails were in good conditions with the exception of a spot where you cross under the powerlines just before the abandoned cars. It was pretty wet and sloppy there. I'm thinking the tree removal by the power company has something to do with that. The tree removal also seems of left a big supply of usable building material. Noticed lots of good green logs that would be great for replacing some of the rotten timbers on some of the features on the inside loop. I'm hoping to start dragging some of the timber out this week and make an easy access stockpile.

Yeah, the dampness in that powerline crossing has been a mystery... bad every late fall and early spring. Oh well, we use it as an opportunity to shape the dirt to be more fun.

Thanks a TON for volunteering out there, please consider logging your hours here... http://ping.fm/GrMxx
We used volunteer contributions as a match when applying for grants.

Here's a little plan for fresh tree material use on Trail 16...

Would you could you in the snow?

Of course it's "cool" to ride in the snow, will change conditions to "fair"... Maybe we need a white conditions button, what would it be called?

Rode 2a, 3abc, 4abc, 5, 6ab, 13, 15b around noon, overcast, 17 degrees. Trails were pretty decent for fat tyres, 6c and 5 were a little soft. Trees down across 4a, 4c, 6a, 15 that I recall...

Thanks for the post! Sometimes when trees go down, it's an opportunity, sometimes not. Managed to put some time in out there Saturday, missing the river ride but getting some things done...

Image

Large deadfall near the FrontSide entrance results in tiny reroute, overhanging branch, and potential TTF...
Image

Other deadfall actually closed a fall line section of trail and required maintenance, also freed up some space to possibly turn the Kid's Trail into loop rather than out & back. Red line is new trail (rough), purple line the old trail, green flags at each end...

Here's a crude sketch of the idea...

Thank you BigFish for the pictures and the help!

I certainly support the idea of a kids trail/pump track  loop rather instead of any 2 way traffic!

Thanks for the work Ken

Planning to get back out there this weekend so please post up with specific details if you know locations of downed trees affecting the trails... this reconnaissance data will help us get the job done more efficiently, completely, etc. resulting in more / better trails and possibly TTFs!

Here's a re-post of the most recent Beverly map...

Trails were a little icy in places, with a mix of frozen dirt and slime in spots.
