Those interested in beating the heat are welcome to join us trail working crazies @ 8am this Saturday... we will move from the front side through the gate off 21st Street to the Drop Trail 17 area where we will unload donated materials for construction of a berm.

Other projects include:
-Mowing / trimming of designated trails.
-Debris removal from trail tread in all areas.
-Pruning of materials protruding into trail corridors.
-Chainsaw trees that are low hanging / blocking trails.
-De-berming trails, allowing water to leave tread (training required).

As always, dress appropriately for the weather and being in the woods... hat, gloves, sunblock, bug spray, and water are highly recommended.

I will take care of the trees first thing in the morning then head towards the 5% uber skinny for some more fun. If any one needs a hand just give me a call, or if we are light on dirt movers I will bring a shovel.

**If the inner loop leaner hasnt moved from it's super pinched location I will not be cutting it out. We may need to ask the city to help. Pinched, leaning, held up by three other trees...that is asking for trouble.

Some downed and leaning trees were taken out of contention.
We were able to get one more truck load of dirt to the Drop Trail 17 berm, began raining which made it quite the feat.
The old farm road and some more trails were mowed.

Thanks everyone for showing up and helping out!

Please keep in mind that the trails are we and in POOR condition, riding them WILL cause damage, especially in the areas of recent work activity.

Ha, nice pix!

Did a little more shaping on that berm this PM... composed of so many dirt types it'll be hard to predict how that thing with behave, time will tell.

Also reinforced the 45' rail tie skinny replacement bridge this AM as it was sagging in the center and a bit bouncy with the 9-ish foot spans; better now.

What to work on tomorrow? Hmmmmmmm......

Is this the berm that we started with all that scrap concrete? I can already see myself flying OTB after the drop in on this! Schweeet!

That be the one. The exit portion, mostly clay, still needs shaping... please, anyone, be my guest; as shaping a berm is hard work!

*edit: Found an old pic of us working on that trail...

The recent rains really helped the dirt be in the right condition for some more shaping...

Dog for scale :)

Hoping the present rain with help the thing settle and ridership will do the rest. Still some shaping to do on the drop and trails just before and after, but there's always tweaking to do out there.

Enjoy.
