Workday Sunday July 11th

Postby Farmboy » Wed Jul 07, 2010 3:06 pm

Before the picnic I'm gonna do a little work on the trails. Included in my list are:

Mowing
Pruning
General Maintenance Stuff
Weedwacking Clancy's ditch
Perhaps a little West Meadow work if enough people show

If'm you can make it, great. If not, no biggie.

We will halt all trailwork at no later than 2:30pm in order to allow all of us to enjoy the Family Picnic festivities that will be starting at 3pm. Wooo Hoo!
If you're gonna be dumb, you better be tough.

Knowing what time we should show up might be useful. If the trails are dry between Fri-Sun, I may carry pruners with me on a ride and stop periodically to clear whatever debris/whips are the most annoying. I'll post here or let people know in person on Sunday what I get done, if anything.

After we get rid of the older child to Scout Camp, we will head down to Beverly, dropping him off around noon, so should be down there around 12:30ish to help with what we can maybe remove a couple of those damn little stumps that everyone hits with their feet and causes you to crash at least once a year on the inner loop Then we will plan on partying at 3 and having a great afternoon of riding and hanging out.

I'll plan on being there.
When I was a kid, I rode bikes. Now I ride bikes and act like a kid. Some things never change.

It sprinkled for about 5 minutes, doesn't look like the rain is going to do too much.

Here's a pic from the work day:
Image

Keith, Angy, their son, and myself got rid of some stumps on the inner loop, filled the giant hole that was in the middle of the trail and cut out some of the thorns that were hanging out over the trail. Eric and Nole got a lot of mowing done before and during the downpour.

Thanks to everyone who came out.
