Let's do it up

Postby Farmboy » Tue Jun 29, 2010 9:03 pm

If a better night exists for riding than what's forecast for tomorrow night, I don't know what it would be. I will be there with my bell a ringin'.

What's better than a great night? Two great nights! Friday night looks to be just as good. Keep the bells a ringin' and the pedals a turnin'...
Unfortunately we won't be able to make it, heading to Colorado. Bad timing, but good destination.

What's going on in CO? Seems everyone is going there this week, except I haven't paid attention to the big deal with CO.

I so want to ride, but I don't think I can make it tonight. I have to attend a farewell function for a guy I work with...but maybe I can get out before 7:00 PM and take a quick lap or two. Man I want to ride---it's friggin awesome outside!

Do it man. You're a LAMBA night staple item now. It's not the same without you.

Guess I won't make it after all. It turns out I have a concussion, :confusion-seeingstars: which explains my sudden urge to sleep while walking.

Off the current topic a bit, but didn't feel like starting a new thread. Kids and I have time during the day to go to Beverly to do some basic trimming, getting the leg/arm whips. Problem being we don't have any tools to do so. Anyone know where we might be able to pick up some clippers cheaply? Or have some we can borrow this week to get out and trim a few times before the 11th? I figure the kids don't mind clipping stuff and it's easy enough for them to do that. Leave the harder stuff for the big guys.

I have keys at my house. You can stop by and get them from Jill.

I have my keys in my van at all times as well. I don't usually drive my van to work though. So if you wanna grab my keys, ya just hafta let me know so I can get them to ya. Also, there's always a set down at Hall's for the trailer.

Awesome. Thank you. Keep track of any hours you put in.

Problem is I don't always know when I'll be going down, I'm quite random like that. I can check with Jill before we head out to see if she's home, if not I can stop by Hall's. Thanks!

Well I had high hopes for tonight. I got out there around 4pm and took to the trail with some tools. Cleared a couple of pesky downed trees and did a quick shore up of a bridge that needs some more permanent work. Then it was back to the van to get ready to ride. Some folks showed up, things were looking good, then my wife calls to let me know the sump pump wasn't working and water was slowly trickling into the basement. Dammit. I high tailed it home. Wasn't as bad as I feared in the basement. Water was contained to the unfinished part of the basement. After moving everything out, making three trips to ace hardware, I had the broken pieces fixed.

So, in response to tonight's domestic tragedy I'll be back out there Friday night.

I remember that. That's why when she called, I threw the chainsaw in the van and I was off like a dirty girl's panties. Installed new sump pump today. Just in time for the rain headed this way.

We have a finished basement and a sump that is somewhat active when the rains come. I was always paranoid about the electricity or pump giving out so I threw in a battery powered backup pump in '07. Was glad to have it in '08. Also keep a spare pump, ready to go, and a spare check valve.
