New Website

New Website

Postby NoyzSource » Thu Apr 01, 2010 11:16 pm

Because I'm a kind of ego centric prick, I'm throwing out the new website for comments.

http://LAMBAonline.org

It might not show up until tomorrow but when you do see it please give me some feedback. It currently does not include all the features that I talked about in this post: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=742

I'm adding bits here and there.
I'll be looking for some artists to develop some background images for the header and other tweaks.

Some of the first bits that I'm looking for are the trail condition blocks.

I need 3 pictures.
1 reddish - Says Beverly Park and "Poor" condition
1 yellowish - Says Beverly Park and "Fair" condition
1 greenish - Says Beverly Park and "Good" condition
100 px wide, 65 px tall.

PNG or SVG format.

I want to limit the size to make sure it is mobile/smart phone friendly.

Similar to the ICORR logo here but without all the background stuff.

These images need to be Creative Commons Licensed or Public Domain because I don't want to have to keep asking for permission every time I use them in a different fashion. If you would like to "give" them to me, I can take care of the licensing.

Google maps calls Bev Park, Cheyenne park. make a note of it to clear confusion? Mapquest gets it right.

other than that, looking good. I will dig around for art ideas

I'm looking to that. I reported an error to Google. I'm searching for an online map that includes 33rd Ave also so people can get routed there easier from I380.

All of the online maps are failing in one way or another.
Wrong name.
Wrong location.
Wrong routing.

BAH!

That new 33rd Ave extension is way sweet in terms of getting to the park

Hey, if you need an hand with any website/design tasks, I'd be more than happy to help. I'm a developer, and love to do this kind of stuff. Also, I'm a Photoshop Power-user, so if you need graphics designed or images processed, just get in contact with me and I'll give you a hand.

So far I consider the website 85% done. I have hit almost all of the items I put into my initial mockup.

From the site

LAMBA is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization dedicated to creating and maintaining sustainable mountain biking trails in the Linn County Iowa area.

When did this happen? I thought we were listed as c7 (recreation). Thanks Kevin (i think that is who was working on it). that is awesome news if we did switch over to charitable.

The picture on this page is good example of the what I would like to have near the top of our page. Of course it should be something closer to what Bevelry park is like (eg. not so far, don't need full suspension).

Something much slimmer 300-400px wide x 75px tall. png format. I'd like to incorporate it into the header at the top instead of the green background that is there. I may try to get it to fit somewhere else if the header turns into a pain in the php butt. It could be larger with that aspect ratio an I could scale it down in the img tag.

That's a cool pic. I'll bring my digital camera out to Beverly on Sunday and try to get a pic of someone screaming around the trail. I bet I can photoshop something up like that - even better if the right mtbiker pulls out some tricks.
