Money was raised and a professional concept design delivered. Initial flags are up, the alignments have been approved by Linn Co. administrators and their board, and now it is time to corridor clear! Pencil May 18th onto your calendars and stay tuned for details...

Saturday, May 18 volunteer with LAMBA!

7-9 am: We will start the morning at Squaw Creek Park in Marion by helping Linn County Conservation load trees for Operation ReLeaf. *note: this portion of the day is not for children as many vehicles will be driving through.
9-10 am: Potluck style breakfast at tables near the upper playground. Bring something to share and socialize. Learn about the new trail.
10-?: Spend as much time as you like participating in the Rake and Ride! This is the first event of its kind and it will be a great way to learn about the trail building process!

Bring a lawn rake and gloves and of course, your bike. We will be raking the flagged trail corridor and then riding to try out different lines within the trail corridor.

Here are more detailed instructions for the trail work day this weekend:

Conservation Crew replant native vegetation outside of the trail corridor (primary) and removed garlic mustard (secondary).

Stick Crew clear the corridor of big debris such as med - large branches, throw uphill and or downhill (prevent cut through trail access points).

Rake Crew clear the corridor tread area of debris by raking five foot each direction from pin flags.

DON’T DO DIRT WORK! We aren’t quite there yet... corridor clearance allows experienced dirt workers to mold/build/bench cut as necessary.

Ride raked trail to try out different lines within the trail corridor.

Hang out to celebrate our hard work!
