March 27th Squaw Creek Workday

Postby Farmboy » Mon Mar 21, 2011 3:21 pm

Spent a lot of time out at Squaw the last two weekends getting things ironed out. The intermediate trail is ready to get started on. On Sunday we'll need one person on a chainsaw, one person on a brush cutter, and everyone else working the dirt.

The beginner trail is still going to need some finalizing from a trail planning standpoint. I hope to get that done this week so we can work the dirt there too.

It would be nice to pull the trailer over there if possible. That way all the tools we may need will be there.

The more volunteers we get for this, obviously the better. Please post up if you're available to help on Sunday.

Bring whatever you think you might need. We'll have a bunch of LAMBA tools there too.

If that is still closed tomorrow, at the first intersection in the park where you take a right to go past the lodges, take the road past the campground to the rangers / maintenance station. We can park there.

I will try to find a ranger when I get out there to see if we can get the barricades moved just for our purposeds. OtherwiseI will have a sign up to clear things up when people get out there so they know where to go.

At the very least, we should get our kids out there and ride that novice loop. I think my daughter would love it.

Post work day libations. Just when you think Eric couldn't get any uglier, he shows up in a Cornhusker's hat.

That's about it. I have to give another big thanks to those who showed up and were able to lend a hand. I sincerely hope this is the beginning of something great at squaw creek.
