Front Shock maintainence

Postby dmsndogr » Fri Dec 18, 2009 5:39 pm

hello all!

my shocks definutly need fixed/replaced. right now, they don't move. water got into them and froze up. so, i either need to take them apart, get the water out, put them back together with any knew parts that I need, or I need to replace them.

I'd like to look at the costs of both. I have know idea what it would cost to replace them. but I'd like to upgrade if i went that route, to somethign more durable, and mroe responsive. I definutely do not need top of the line.

My current shocks are what ever come stock with the 2006 trek 3700. any one have any tips on how to maintainence them? like I said, I'd like to tear them all the way down and rebuild them, replacing parts as needed. where is a good place to get replacement parts for te front shocks? are there kits? would you go that route?

well, thats about it. hows the riding?

thanks,

Dustin

Get them to a shop! Forks are not for tinkering. Probably better off to upgrade.

Is there a shop that is more recognized for fork/shock work than the others?
