Wrenching, bike maintenance, even trail work; discuss gear and tools here...
I don't typically ride a whole lot in the winter but with the weather lately I have had the chance to get the bike out and ride this week in my neighborhood. I noticed last fall and again this week my brakes squeak really bad. They are avid juicy ultimate. I have heard that Avid brakes tend to squeak some but these are getting pretty bad. So is this normal and just need some repair? Maybe some new pads? Any advise would greatly be appreciated!

Clean the rotors with alcohol and sand the pads with some 150 grit (lightly). That might help. All disc brakes squeal when they're wet.
If you're gonna be dumb, you better be tough.

Re-aligning the calipers on the rotors can do wonders for Avid squawk as well.

I have had nothing but problems with my juciy ultimate carbons. I have tryed everything to shut them up. Solution: I've replaced them with Magures MT 8s. I hope you find a better solution than that. It was a little pricy.
I need more info here...
