Kenda tires locally?

Postby iLuvTechnical » Tue Oct 19, 2010 5:32 pm

Is there any place locally that sells Kenda brand tires or do I have to resort to the internet?

Healthy Habits in Bettendorf usually has some on the floor. I think I've seen Small Block Eights, Karmas and Nevegals there. Would have to email or call them for width/diameter inventory. FYI, I have a set of Nevegal 29x2.2" tires I'd practically give away to anyone who wants them.

Thanks for the info and the offer Jaxon. However, I would rather spend in Linn County and I am looking for 26" x 2.1 (2.2's are too big).

Anyone else know of local Kenda dealers?

Shops can usually order what they don't have in stock. Ask Hall and Northtowne if they will order what you want. Most shops order from QBP and many bike brands are available from QBP.

I'm waiting for a 29" Kenda Slant Six to come into stock myself.

Tire choice is such a finicky thing, that I'd hate to be the person who decides how to stock the shelves. Some want speed and high pressure, some want control, some want in between.

Either shop will be able to get watcha need, but I'd be surprised if either one has the good ol' blue groove in stock if that's what yer after.

Ive seen them in IC shops, Broken Spoke and world of Bikes. Seems CR shops cater to Ragbri riders and the softer side of cycling, just an observation.

Hall's can order some if you want. They don"t keep a large selecetion of 29er's in stock, they do have some 26"Kenda MTB tires and can order any that are not in stock. I'll be working Saturday at the shop if you want to take a look at the catalog.

If you go to http://www.QBP.com, about half way down on the left side of the main page they have a non-priced copy of their catalog which would allow you to even get the exact part number you need. And I'm not aware of a single bike shop that doesn't order from QBP on a semi-regular basis.....WARNING!!, you might also find a few other things you "need" if you flip through it for too long.

I like the Kenda Karma best so far for an all purpose tire. I haven't tried tires from a bunch of companies, but I'm interested in trying these new ones:

Continental X-King

Kenda Slant Six
