29er Rims I have known...Stans Flows and Arches
seemed to be pretty strong rims for their weight (525 & 475g), they built up really well. Kinda pricey at around 70-75 bucks. I think you'd be happy with these. Arches are 24mm wide and Flows 28mm. Jaghouse is running Flows if I recall correctly...WTB DD XC's
seemed pretty weenie, a little frustrating building. My bro says he can feel 'em flex in corners.WTB DD FR
and Halo Freedoms
have worked well for my weight and less than graceful riding
. They both also were hassle free builds. A bit heavy around 630gr. Both are around $35
Sun RhinoLite, I have one set built by Mike Curiak that has held up very well. Another set built by SpeedGoat, rear is going strong, front one I bent the crap out of endoing in the rock garden a couple years ago
We got it reasonably true whacking against a tree stump and torquing it between two rocks, the tensions are all over the place but I'm still riding it
Not a sexy looking rim, strong, but I think the WTB DDFRs are stronger.
Alex TD17, my first wheel build...four years back, these things have held up to some stupid riding
Still have 'em, though are on my cement/asphalt/gravel bike...These things are cheap! Twenty bucks, good bargain rim.
Salsa Semi - Just built these, seemed pretty strong, built up easy, have yet to abuse them.
Kris Holm Unicycle rim - crazy strong! wide! heavy! Overkill for a normal sized rider...
