I like to build. Mainly because I can put parts on that I want rather than package deals. I like to make sure I'm getting the best return out of my money. Hubs, headsets, bottom brackets, they are worth spending good money on to make sure you have a high quality part. Seatposts, stems, bars, I dunno, a seatpost is a seatpost to me, within reason. Why spend $100 bucks on a Thomson when a $35 Ritchey will do the same thing. Now, a Chris King headset vs an FSA, I'll adjust that King once and never have to touch it again, well maybe not never, but not for a long time. That's worth the money.
