Sorry Jason, that caught us by surprise as well. The Corp of Engineers Rangers close the trail when it rains (by flipping the signs), and ICORR is responsible to open them when conditions allow it. Typically it's pretty obvious and we're in sync when the trails should be closed, but we weren't yesterday. As dry as it has been, we didn't realize they would close the trails for ~.30" rain and didn't find out until around 5:30p.

CoE doesn't have any contact with ICORR or the website/hotline when they flip the signs, so there is no guarantee that information is 100% accurate. We would like for them to update the hotline as well when they flip the signs, but haven't been able to achieve that reliably. Maybe we're 99% accurate...

The signs are the ultimate indicator of trail status, and the Rangers will ticket people for riding when the signs indicate the trails are closed.

What to do next time? Contact a board member directly or through icorr@icorrmtb.org (in the Contact tab on icorrmtb.org) so we can help sort it out.

Thanks,
Rg.
