New concept for sharing trail info

Postby dlporter » Tue May 14, 2013 7:51 pm

I came across a website called MTBProject earlier today and I have to say it seems like a really cool idea. It basically lets the users share maps and information about the local trails they ride. It then catalogues all of this information in a searchable database for anyone to see. What a great way to scout out trails to ride when you travel for vacation/business/etc. It's still new, so there isn't much there yet, but imagine the wealth of info if everyone adopted this. Here is the link for anyone that wants to check it out:

That's pretty cool! Lately I've been using strava's segment explorer to scout out rides. It's nice because you can see the elevation profiles as well as other users average speeds and power output to get an idea of the trail difficulty.
