mcleods

Postby Ken » Thu May 19, 2011 4:58 pm

If you like building / maintaining singletrack, then you know what a mcleod is as it is probably the single most useful tool for creating the trails we enjoy.

The point? Well, turns out ICORR and LAMBA are talking about going in together to purchase more of these very valuable tools.

What does this have to do with you? Well, if you want to build singletrack (with permission) then you will likely need this tool... you could borrow one from LAMBA, and probably ICORR too; but if you want your own $40 will get it done, that's a good deal.

Here's a link to the tool... http://www.benmeadows.com/NUPLA-McLeod- ... sku=139614

If you want in on the purchase reply and we'll keep in touch with you. Just imagine, an army of trail building soldiers, armed with mcleods; cool.

I'm w/ Adam...if they're quality, I'll take one as well.
When I was a kid, I rode bikes. Now I ride bikes and act like a kid. Some things never change.

I've always dreamed of owning my own mcleod (not really) so put me down too. Now I'll have to commit to spending some of my spare time smoothing out some of the rougher sections that are less fun to ride on a hardtail, especially the meadows.

I'm in. Turns out they're pretty good tools to have around for yard work too.

I'm giving people until Wednesday a chance to put their order in. On Thurs I'll place the order.

These are the same fiberglass handled mcleods that are currently used by LAMBA.

Suppose I didn't indicate or imply this in the original post, but yeah, mark me down for one.

Loading up to work trails at Sugar on Sunday and couldn't find my mcleod anywhere, suspect it broke away is now running wild with a pack of FORC mcleods... so sign me up for one as well.

Has anyone used a Rogue Hoe? (careful...) http://www.roguehoe.com/ Next best thing to a mcleod in my opinion, some even think it's better. These guys will be at the Festival next month and will demo, good chance to check 'em out.

If you all buy Mcleods maybe LAMBA won't need any of their own. :)

Remember that you will want to mark you Mcleod prominently so it doesn't get mixed in. We could have a beer/riding get together at my place and grind your names into your Mcleods with a Dremel tool.

NOT buying any in this house. I can only imagine what the boys would do to our yard if we had one of those! We will continue to borrow LAMBA's, thanks!

It's tempting to just donate a couple Mcleods to the Snoop boys just to sit back and enjoy the show.

I gathered all the names I got in email and on the forum and the quantities they wanted. I sent out an email to everybody so if you didn't get one then shoot me a message so I can get your correct email address. I was pretty sure on all of them except Rev. Jimmy.

Looks like we'll be ordering 21 or 22 based on the pricing. If I can get the price between 37 and 40 bucks then LAMBA will be ordering 6 instead of 5 to stay within the budget.
